Kanye West to perform in Slovakia after pro-Hitler song DW 06/23/2025
Briefly

Kanye West will be performing at the Rubicon Festival in Bratislava on July 20, 2025, marking his first-ever show in Slovakia and his only confirmed European performance that year. However, his participation has ignited backlash, with over 3,000 signatures gathered for a petition opposing his act due to his controversial statements and songs that align with Nazi ideology. The petition mentions his social media posts and his recent track "Heil Hitler," which references Nazi symbols and trivializes historical atrocities, prompting concerns about his influence and message.
The confirmation of his participation has however sparked anger. More than 3,000 people have already signed a petition against the controversial rapper's performance in the Slovak capital.
The authors of the petition point out that Kanye West, also known as Ye, has in recent years repeatedly and openly adopted the symbolism and ideology associated with World War II and the Nazi regime.
The petition adds that he trivializes the crimes of the totalitarian dictatorial regime and the war atrocities that also affected the Slovak population.
Ye's latest track, "Heil Hitler," which was released on May 8, references Nazi salutes and ends with a lengthy sample from a Hitler speech.
