A 59-year-old man died while climbing the Wagendrischelhorn mountain, falling 50 metres into a gully. He was climbing with a 65-year-old partner who notified emergency services immediately. Despite having appropriate climbing equipment, they were not attached with ropes. The couple was on the 'Zellerführ' route, which is usually considered easy. This incident marked the third death involving German climbers; another German man was found dead on Hohe Geige in Tyrol, and a week earlier, a 54-year-old hiker died in Vorarlberg after falling 100 metres down a rocky gully during descent.
A 59-year-old man died after falling 50 metres from the Wagendrischelhorn mountain while climbing with his partner. The accident occurred at an altitude of about 2,100 metres.
The couple were climbing the 'Zellerführ' route, generally considered an easy climb, at the time of the incident. Both climbers had appropriate equipment but were not attached with ropes.
