Back in hometown during World Series, Warriors' Podziemski ponders baseball career that could have been
"When you're a kid, when you'd watch it, you'd definitely want to be in it, Podziemski said before Thursday's game against his hometown Bucks. I had that dream for sure."
"Shohei Ohtani, nobody is him, but I would've tried to do as much as I can, because then it allows the manager to let you play first one day, then the outfield, and then if the guys need a rest, you could pitch, Podziemski said."
Brandin Podziemski is an established NBA shooting guard for the Golden State Warriors who has been part of the rotation since his rookie season. The team exercised his fourth-year option, positioning him for a substantial second contract. He is averaging 12.2 points per game after a slow start and has recently delivered solid shooting performances. Podziemski grew up in Greenfield, Wisconsin, and many family members will attend the Warriors’ matchup with the Bucks. He was also a gifted high school baseball player—an outfielder and left-handed pitcher with a looping curveball and a fastball in the high-80s—batting .469 with 10 RBIs and two triples while striking out 40 in 22.2 innings pitched.
