Tobias Halland Johannessen is reported to be doing much better after suffering abdominal pain during the Tour de France stage 16. He finished the stage in 28th place, maintaining eighth in the overall classification. Following his finish, he received medical treatment and oxygen on the ground. An official update indicated he would go to the hospital for further examination. Team manager Thor Hushovd expressed relief that Johannessen is in good spirits and emphasized the priority of his health.
Tobias suffered some right-sided upper abdominal pain during the final climb today. He made it to the finish, where he was seen immediately by race doctors and given oxygen.
He feels much better. That was dramatic seeing him lying down with stomach pain, but luckily, he feels better and will go to the hospital for a check-up. That was our team doctor's advice.
