Dr. Lorin D. Warnick will step down as Austin O. Hooey Dean of Veterinary Medicine on June 30, 2026, after completing his second term. Provost Kavita Bala has initiated a search for his successor, with Andrew Karolyi and Gary Koretzky chairing the search committee. Warnick joined Cornell faculty in 1996, served as interim dean in 2015, was appointed dean in 2016, and had his appointment renewed in 2020. Warnick led the college through the COVID-19 response and helped sustain its global reputation. The college adapted to clinic consolidation and veterinarian shortages in rural and lower-income communities. Warnick collaborated with the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
