"Oracle's new approach to security patches will see the company releasing updates on a monthly basis, starting with the first Critical Security Patch Update (CSPU) on May 28. This decision is in response to the increasing speed at which AI-enabled software vulnerabilities are being discovered."
"Unlike its competitors, Oracle's patch release schedule will be off-beat, with updates coming a week later than other vendors. The first update will be followed by subsequent patches on June 16, July 21, and August 18."
Oracle is shifting to a monthly security patch release cycle for its ERP, database, and other software to keep pace with the rapid discovery of AI-enabled vulnerabilities. Unlike other vendors like Microsoft, SAP, and Adobe, which release patches on the second Tuesday of each month, Oracle will release its Critical Security Patch Updates (CSPUs) on the fourth Thursday of May and subsequently on the third Tuesday of each month. The upcoming patch dates include June 16, July 21, and August 18.
