Jefferson High in Los Angeles made a historic change by converting its football field into a baseball/softball field for the first time in a century, allowing teams to practice and play on campus. The school's baseball team, with a record of only two winning seasons in the last 21, has been revitalized under the guidance of athletic director Jose Fuentes and coaches Humberto Figueroa and Diego Castaneda as they prepare for the playoffs. Jefferson's modernization plans include further enhancements to their athletic facilities by 2028.
