K-Pop idol comes out as trans, delighting fans: 'So proud of her. My sweet girl'
Briefly

Cherry, also known as Ryujin and part of K-pop group Jwiiver, has come out as transgender. During an Instagram Live session on July 19, she openly declared, "This isn't a hobby, it's my life. I'm trans." Cherry expressed that she did not feel like an ordinary person and wanted to take her time revealing her identity. Fans have praised her courage and openness. Other members of the LGBTQ+ community in K-pop have also made announcements, showcasing a growing acceptance within the industry.
This isn't a hobby, it's my life. I'm trans. Because I wasn't an ordinary person, I couldn't reveal everything from the start. My goal was to take it slow. I'm just going with my goal.
So beyond proud of her! My sweet girl!
I am so happy for her. I've been following her for a long time and I feel excited every time she expresses herself.
When asked if she 'WLW or bisexual', she replied: '100 per cent wuhluhwuh (WLW)'. The acronym stands for women loving women and can apply to bisexual, lesbian and pansexual women.
