Liverpool have suffered back-to-back losses for the first time since March. It's something which, for Arne Slot, will feel like uncharted territory, especially given the nature of his side's defeat in the UEFA Champions League against Galatasaray on Tuesday in Istanbul. But as the age-old saying goes, when it rains, it pours, and the Reds have since been dealt a further blow, with Slot now set to hand a Premier League debut to one member of his squad at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Virgil van Dijk on Milos Kerkez The Netherlands International explained that it is not easy to adapt to the intensity of playing for Liverpool, and Kerkez is still a young player. However, the Dutch International is confident that the Hungarian will be absolutely fine going forward, and he is likely to be an important player for Liverpool in future. Van Dijk said: Milos is learning how we play and the intensity of playing for Liverpool and dealing with it on and off the pitch. It's not easy, but he is going to be absolutely fine.

This leans on the teal shade, however, and though it's not a colour often associated with the club, it definitely has a retro feel. The kit features Adidas' classic Trefoil logo on the right-hand side of the torso, just like Arsenal's third kit and Newcastle United's third kit, though while those shirts make obvious attempts at recreating something old, this is distinctly new: yes, that '08/09 top acts as the closest thing to this, with its subtle stripes, but there's no clear reference otherwise.

Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace after the South London side authorised a move in the final hours of transfer deadline day. Eagles boss Oliver Glasner made it clear in his press conference last week that he did not want to lose his captain, but chairman Steve Parish seems to have gone over his head at the last minute. Reports suggest Guehi is currently undergoing his medical in London, with the aim of completing a deal before the 7pm deadline in the UK.

Ahead of the match, Liverpool faced a dilemma at right back. With Jeremie Frimpong sidelined through injury and both Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez still working their way back to full fitness, Arne Slot had little choice but to deploy Dominik Szoboszlai in the role. Though the Hungarian had picked up a few reps there in preseason, it remains far from his natural position.

Obviously we all know it is a difficult place to come, we all know there was a lot of oil on the fire this week to get, especially, Newcastle fired up. For us, we are disappointed to concede from two set-pieces and that shouldn't happen but, overall, it's a great three points. We move on and focus on the next one.
