Battersea Power Station tube station's second entrance nearly ready to open
Briefly

Battersea Power Station's new tube station features a second entrance that is about to open, facilitating easier access for commuters. The station has dual platforms and a spacious concourse, with escalators leading to street level. Although the western entrance was anticipated to open earlier this year, delays occurred but construction is now progressing. The entrance will improve access to the Battersea Power Station development and shorten interchange walks. A subway will also be reopened for better crossing for those on the south side who require lift access.
The station is designed with two tube train platforms, leading up to a large ticket hall concourse, and then three sets of escalators take people up to street level.
The western entrance was expected to open earlier this year, but was delayed, and now the hoardings that covered up the site are starting to come down.
When the entrance opens, it will provide a more convenient access to the western end of the Battersea Power Station development, and a slightly shorter interchange walk for Battersea Park and Queenstown Road stations.
The new entrance will include a lift that will provide step-free access between platforms, ticket hall level and the upper street level.
