British Airways' exciting new flight routes include a direct service to this buzzy cultural capital
"From Saturday 9 January 2027, British Airways will operate frequent connections between London Heathrow and Melbourne Airport, via the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. Despite the touchdown and brief disembarkation, the flights are considered direct because the entire journey is on the same aircraft under the same flight number."
"Daily flights will depart London Heathrow at 9.10pm each evening, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 6.05pm and taking off again at 7.45pm before arriving in Melbourne at 6.40am - two calendar days after departure. The return leg, beginning from 11 January, sees passengers board the aircraft in Melbourne at 4.35pm, arriving at London Heathrow at 5.20am the following day."
"The new service launches in time for the Australian Open, which kicks off on 17 January 2027, and the Melbourne Grand Prix. While the airline hasn't shared details of the aircraft taking on the journey, passengers will have a choice of four cabins - World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy), Club World (business class) and First. Return fares start from £1,130."
