Santander Cycles and Transport for London have introduced themed cycling routes to encourage exploration of lesser-known areas in London. The Side Quests route generator allows users to select routes based on themes like food spots or film locations, varying in difficulty levels. Research indicated that 55% of surveyed individuals expressed a desire to see more of the city. To celebrate this launch, Santander Cycles is offering free floating water bikes for a day, enabling users to enjoy cycling on canals in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
"This scheme helps Londoners and visitors discover hidden parts of the city, stay active and enjoy the summer weather," said Will Norman, walking and cycling commissioner.
Santander Cycles and Transport for London have launched themed cycling routes to help people discover less familiar areas of London.
Research commissioned by Santander and TfL found 55% of respondents wanted to explore more of London.
David Eddington, head of cycle hire at TfL, said he was "excited to see more Londoners and visitors explore the capital in an affordable way."
