An Ex-St. John and Rochelle Canteen Team Has Opened Dockley Road in Bermondsey
"There's so much good food being made and sold in Spa Terminus in Bermondsey - residents include Neal's Yard Dairy, Natoora, The Kernel, Ham and Cheese Co, Gimlet Drinks and Farmer Tom Jones - so it makes sense that a new neighbourhood restaurant has also opened there."
"Dockley Road has been founded by chef Emily Chia (ex-St. John and Joe Beef) and GM Klaudia Weisz (ex-Rochelle Canteen) along with Alex Keys (ex-St. John, Rochelle Canteen and co-owner of Farmer Tom Jones) and Tom Jones (of Farmer Tom Jones), who's supplying meat for the restaurant."
"There is a menu wall in the toilets showing the people and places that we have taken inspiration from and worked with on our journey. We have all worked together in different guises in the past and we want Dockley to feel familiar with a real sense of our hospitality personalities."
Dockley Road occupies 1 Dockley Road in Spa Terminus, Bermondsey, and celebrates the area’s strong cluster of food producers. The venue was founded by chef Emily Chia, GM Klaudia Weisz, Alex Keys and Tom Jones, with Tom Jones supplying the meat. The kitchen sources and showcases produce from neighbours including Neal’s Yard Dairy, Natoora, The Kernel and Farmer Tom Jones. Menu offerings range from "banh mi" terrine and mussels with dulse and cider to gratin dauphinoise "cacio e pepe", beef and Kernel stout hot pot, smoked eel and beetroot romesco, and sorrel sorbet. A blackboard lists sharing dishes and the drinks list references past employers, friends and neighbours.
