Berrylands station closing next week for several months of repair work
"When Berrylands station reopens later this year, passengers will benefit from a brighter, more welcoming station with modern platforms, improved lighting, CCTV and better customer information."
"We know closing the station for several months will be inconvenient, but this £6 million investment will provide our passengers with a much better experience when travelling with us."
Berrylands station will close on May 11, 2026, for several months to upgrade its wooden platforms. New glass-reinforced plastic platforms will be installed, extending the station's life. The station is expected to reopen in late September 2026. A rail replacement bus service will operate every 30 minutes between New Malden and Surbiton during the closure. Facilities such as the ticket office, car park, and toilets will be temporarily closed. The £6 million investment aims to improve passenger experience with modern amenities.
