Art icons collide: Caravaggio at the Wallace, Turner and Constable at Tate Britain
Briefly

Two significant exhibitions will take place in London featuring renowned artists Caravaggio, Constable, and Turner. The Wallace Collection will showcase Caravaggio's Victorious Cupid (1601-02), accompanied by two ancient Roman sculptures, starting on 26th November. Tate Britain will host the Turner and Constable exhibition from 28th November, including over 170 pieces by both artists. The exhibits will reflect on the artists' rivalrous relationship and growth, displaying works like Turner's The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons and Constable's The White Horse 1819.
The Wallace Collection will display Caravaggio's Victorious Cupid (1601-02), which is on loan from Berlin's Gemäldegalerie and will be the centerpiece of an exhibition accompanied by two ancient Roman sculptures.
Tate Britain will bring together over 170 paintings and drawings by Constable and Turner in a combined show, tracing the development of their careers in parallel.
The stark differences between their work spurred art critics to pit them against one another and to cast them as rivals, prompting discussions on their artistic visions.
Turner's The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons, has not been seen in Britain for over a century, alongside Constable's The White Horse 1819.
