Pentameters Theatre was established in 1968 by Leonie Scott-Matthews and has hosted numerous well-known performers over the years. Despite being recognized as an Asset of Community Value, the theatre's lease was terminated due to alleged disrepair and unpaid rent. After 55 years of contributions to fringe theatre, it held its final performance recently. Efforts to secure funding for future operations and legal needs are ongoing, with community members expressing hopes for the theatre's survival amid eviction challenges.
