A reduced Docklands Light Railway (DLR) timetable has been introduced, eliminating Beckton to Canning Town/Stratford International services, with adjustments from Stratford to Lewisham during peak hours.
Transport for London is retiring a fifth of its 90 trains, which are from the early 1990s. By the end of next year, 54 new, air-conditioned trains will be introduced.
Stuart Harvey stated that some of the oldest trains must be retired, necessitating short-term timetable changes. He apologized for the inconvenience to customers.
The introduction of new trains aims to increase capacity by 50% and replace the oldest 33 trains in the fleet by the end of 2026, while rectifying identified signalling issues.
