Heatmiser marks the 30th anniversary of their acclaimed album Mic City Sons with a 2xLP reissue, including remastered originals and new demos. Set for release on July 25 by Third Man Records, it features both standard and limited-edition vinyl. Initially released in 1996 under challenging circumstances, including their impending breakup, the project led to the band's separation. Surviving members have since regrouped, reflecting on their creative legacy and exploring unreleased material, culminating in the expanded reissue and a new teaser that celebrates the album's impact.
Though it was met with acclaim, the project was an extremely challenging endeavor for the quartet and led to their disbandment.
It brought me back to that time in a really visceral way. It made me appreciate this creative space and creative life that we were able to sustain.
