Lewisham's music scene honoured in striking new murals
Briefly

In an effort to celebrate Lewisham's vibrant musical legacy, artists Luke Smile and Matilda White have transformed empty shop fronts on Loampit Vale into striking murals as part of the Brockley Max 2025 festival. With support from Amro Partners, their artworks not only beautify the area but also draw attention to local culture ahead of the planned redevelopment of Lewisham Retail Park. The murals showcase significant influences of Black British music, enhancing community pride and attracting the attention of thousands of daily passers-by.
The murals not only enhance the aesthetics of Loampit Vale but also celebrate Lewisham's rich musical heritage, inspiring community pride and local culture.
Both winning artists have brought something truly unique to Loampit Vale, brightening this thoroughfare while telling stories of local culture and pride.
