Cyclist (50s) dies in Co Laois road incident
"Gardaí are investigating an incident which happened at around 4.30pm in College Avenue in Mountmellick. The man, a pedal cyclist aged in his 50s, collided with a railing and was later removed from the scene to Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise."
"He was receiving treatment in the hospital and passed away on Sunday night. A post mortem is due to take place and a technical examination of the scene by Garda forensic collision investigators is ongoing."
"Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses of this incident to contact them. They are also asking any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to gardaí."
