YMCA Romford has applied for a premises licence variation to enable the hiring of three additional rooms for events and activities, alongside the existing restaurant space. This move aims to facilitate simultaneous events, thus generating increased income for charitable work. The extension also includes permitting licensable activities like alcohol service and extending event hours from 10am to 11pm. CEO Matthew Jones emphasized the initiative's potential to better serve the community by hosting various celebrations concurrently, reflecting YMCA's commitment to community engagement and support.
Matthew Jones, CEO of YMCA Thames Gateway Group, stated, "By applying for a variation to our existing licence, it means that we could... accommodate more than one celebration event and serve alcohol, at any one time."
