Multiple immigration sweeps reported across L.A.: 'They're everywhere'
Briefly

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted immigration sweeps throughout Southern California, eliciting widespread fear within immigrant populations. Notably, videos surfaced showing agents chasing individuals at a Home Depot in Westlake. Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez raised alarm about these operations, describing them as escalating in urgency and unpredictability. These raids are part of a broader, aggressive deportation policy under President Trump, which recently included arrests at a San Diego restaurant. Amidst this climate, advocates call attention to the need for immigrant rights protection and community mobilization.
“These actions are escalating: agents arrive without warning and leave quickly, aware that our communities mobilize fast,” said Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez.
Yasmeen Pitts O'Keefe stated that federal agents in downtown Los Angeles were executing search warrants related to the harboring of people illegally in the country.
