LA Galaxy coach Greg Vanney remains optimistic despite an abysmal start to the season, with the team at the bottom of the Western Conference and in search of their first win. The Galaxy have lost 12 matches out of 16 and drawn four, yet Vanney points out that the team’s fight and competitiveness are evident. Although the execution needs improvement, especially in teamwork, Vanney focuses on controllables like performance and effort, believing that their prospects can turn around soon.
Each one of these games, there are some similarities to it and there's some differences to it. The guys come out they fight and they work and they compete.
Sometimes we chose ourselves when we needed to choose our team-mate. If we choose our team-mate, I think we have a much better-looking goal.
I subscribe to the things you can control as much as possible. Which is our performances, our efforts, our execution, ideally the things we can get better at on the training field.
Despite the poor results, Vanney believes in the team's potential, citing that they have remained competitive in most matches except for the heavy loss to New York.
