"Next came São Paulo in Brazil. Although it scored lower on the city safety index, Hidden says a whopping 14% of Brazilian adults identify as queer (other recent studies suggest 11%-15%). The average cost for a date for two is also lower than many of the other cities surveyed, at around $60.56."
A study evaluated over 35 major cities for LGBTQ+ people seeking dates while traveling. Cities were scored based on safety, the size of the LGBTQ+ population, and the availability of LGBTQ+ bars and clubs. The study also considered dating-app search frequency, the typical cost of a date for two, and whether same-sex marriage is legal. Madrid ranked first, supported by Spain’s strong safety record for LGBTQ+ travelers and a vibrant gay scene. Madrid offers more than 70 gay-friendly bars, with a typical date night for two costing about $90. The study recommends visiting during Madrid Pride or the Mad.Bear festival. São Paulo ranked next, with a lower safety score but a high share of queer adults and a lower average date cost.
