"Apparently the Dodgers and Blue Jays went 18 innings last night. I haven't watched a single postseason inning, but I have followed along most games, and I quit this one in the seventh for various reasons not related to the game itself. That's not to say I haven't watched any 18-inning postseason games. I was on a business trip when the Dodgers and Red Sox went to 18 a few years ago,"
"and I watched most of the conclusion of that game out of a lack of anything better to do, so I remember that one fairly well. And, of course, I imagine many/most of you had their eyes glued to the screen for the ultimately-awful Chris Burke game, which I've mentioned many a time is a core memory for me at this point."
A fan woke up surprised to learn the Dodgers and Blue Jays played 18 innings after quitting that game in the seventh for reasons unrelated to the game. The fan has not watched a live postseason inning that year but has followed most games. Previous experiences include watching much of the conclusion of an 18-inning Dodgers–Red Sox game while on a business trip and watching all 18 innings of the Chris Burke postseason game, which remains a vivid memory. The fan invites others to share how long they have continued watching before tapping out.
