Cardinals Notes: Pushard, Graceffo, Soriano
"Pushard was originally signed by the Marlins as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He reached the Double-A level in 2023, then Triple-A in 2024 as a 26-year-old."
"In 62 1/3 innings at that level in 2025, Pushard carried a 3.61 ERA along with a 28.5% strikeout rate and a 9.0% walk rate."
"The 6'4″ righty added a mile and a half to his four-seam fastball in 2025, averaging 95.0 MPH with the pitch."
"[We want Graceffo to] continue to build up. If he is going to help us, he is going [to pitch multiple innings]."
The Cardinals completed their 13-man pitching staff by confirming the inclusion of relievers Chris Roycroft, George Soriano, and Matt Pushard. Pushard, selected from the Marlins in the Rule 5 Draft, must remain on the active roster for the entire 2026 season to retain his rights. He has a solid minor league record, achieving a 3.61 ERA and a 28.5% strikeout rate in 2025. Pushard will take on a multi-inning role, previously held by Gordon Graceffo, who was optioned to Triple-A.
