Craig Bellamy: I loved living in Brussels it gave me freedom and allowed me to breathe'
Briefly

Craig Bellamy, who capped his Wales career with 78 appearances, found a fresh start in his coaching career at Anderlecht alongside Vincent Kompany. Despite leaving the club in 2021 due to personal struggles, he cherishes his time in Brussels, appreciating the anonymity it brought him and the opportunity it provided for professional growth. His experiences there, including intense training days and challenges in communication with Kompany, helped shape his approach to coaching as he now prepares to manage his national team in a qualifying match in the same city.
I loved living in Brussels, it gave me a good step back. I was completely unrecognisable—no one had a clue who I was, which was nice.
Some days he and Kompany would arrive at 7.30am and at 8pm still be moving mannequins and talking patterns under the floodlights.
