Microsoft is enhancing its Outlook for Windows app with significant updates, focusing on increased user engagement. The inclusion of Copilot AI allows for email drafting and rewriting across multiple platforms, contingent on a subscription. Users can access offline emails for extended periods, with up to 30 days' worth of stored messages and improved features for managing sent emails. Microsoft aims to facilitate better email communication through these advancements, prompting users to integrate AI tools into their daily workflow.
To tap into Copilot, you'll need either a Copilot Pro subscription or available AI credits through a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family plan.
You can ask Copilot to draft a new email for you based on your prompt, like requesting a raise from your boss.
You can opt to save as many as 30 days' worth of emails to access them offline, up from the previous timeframe of only seven days.
Copilot will pop up as an icon on the top toolbar, allowing users to rephrase, edit, or improve their email drafts.
