Chris Devenski of the Pirates has been suspended for three games and fined for allegedly throwing at Reds infielder Sal Stewart. The incident occurred during a game where the Pirates led 15-6. Stewart called time before the pitch, which nearly hit him. Devenski was ejected after the pitch, and the Pirates' manager also received a one-game suspension. Devenski denied any intent to hit Stewart, stating he was just trying to execute his pitch and get outs.
