Two off-duty Leicester police officers were seriously injured by an alleged drunk driver while riding motorcycles in Worcester. The officers, Eddie Santiago and Stephen Kustigian, were struck when the driver pulled out in front of them. A witness assisted at the scene, applying a tourniquet. Last Thursday, two off-duty Leicester police officers were struck by an alleged drunk driver while riding motorcycles on Summer Street in Worcester.
The officers, Eddie Santiago and Stephen Kustigian, suffered serious injuries including a shattered pelvis, spinal fractures, and a collapsed lung.
A witness provided immediate assistance by applying a tourniquet to one of the officers at the scene before they were transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center.
Both officers face long recoveries ahead and have expressed a desire to return to their duties in Leicester despite their severe injuries.
