Padma Lakshmi On "Bed Picnics," Floor Sitting, and Bathtime Reading
Briefly

Padma Lakshmi's morning routine starts with her phone, which she acknowledges is a bad habit, yet she enjoys having a slow morning. Essential to her home is the Ninja Creami, allowing her to create various frozen desserts. Most recently, she installed UV-protective film on her windows to prevent damage from sunlight. While she usually dines at the kitchen table, she occasionally opts for a 'bed picnic' when the day has been long, enjoying meals while watching TV.
I actually get my phone. I know that's terrible, but that's what I do. Or I lay awake for a few minutes.
Because it's summer, I got a Ninja Creami. You can freeze anything you want, and it mills the frozen fruit or cream into soft serve ice cream.
I put a film on all of my windows that protects me against UV rays. It was reflecting so much sunlight into my home that I was seeing fading on fabrics.
We usually eat dinner at the kitchen table, but sometimes, if we've had a long day, we will do what we call a bed picnic.
