Ernesto Cruz, 54, allegedly stabbed his wife and young daughter to death in Queens before injuring himself. His wife, Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita, suffered 18 stab wounds, while his 2-year-old daughter, Analiz Cruz, had nine. Neighbors reported no prior indication of conflict. Cruz, after the attack, was taken to the hospital and refused to talk to police, showing little remorse. Despite his alcohol use, he had no known mental health issues. Family members suggested jealousy over Cruz's past relationships could be a motive but claimed they never observed any signs of conflict between them.
Cruz allegedly went on a stabbing spree inside of his Forest Avenue home, taking a knife to his 41-year-old wife Ana Pilatagsi-Moposita. She was found on the floor, having been stabbed 18 times, six of which pierced her heart.
His 2-year-old daughter, Analiz Cruz, suffered nine stab wounds to the face and body and perished from a severed artery. Neighbors and family members reported never hearing fighting or arguing.
