The case of missing person Robert Long, who vanished in December 2010, was solved with the discovery of his remains. Divers from two underwater organizations found his PT Cruiser submerged near a boat ramp in Mt. Sinai. Remains were retrieved from the vehicle, prompting a police investigation. The teams, driven by a passion to resolve forgotten cases, expressed the importance of caring for the missing and providing closure for families. Bill McIntosh underscored their aim to bring hope and answers to those searching for loved ones.
One of the divers said he made another shocking find. "I reached in and grabbed a handful of bones, and brought one up to the surface," said the man known as 'Diver Dan.'
"Diver Dan" and the rest of the team had come to Mt. Sinai on a hunch, hoping to solve Long's case. He had last been seen in his vehicle just three miles from the boat ramp.
The goal of Exploring with a Mission is to resolve cases that have mostly been forgotten, cases similar to Long's. "What we want to do is bring answers and give hope, to show that someone still cares," said Bill McIntosh.
"He's sitting right there. How could nobody find it? You'd think with people fishing there and everything, something would have, it's amazing," Gerard Matlock said.
