"With summer holidays behind us, now's the perfect time to escape for a city break. Whether it's a gastronomic getaway in Copenhagen, browsing the vintage stores of Lisbon or getting lost in the twisting, medieval lanes of Carcassonne, we'd love to hear about your favourite destinations in Europe for a short break. The best tip of the week, chosen by Tom Hall of Lonely Planet wins a 200 voucher to stay at a Coolstays property the company has more than 3,000 worldwide."
"The best tips will appear in the Guardian Travel section and website. Keep your tip to about 100 words If you have a relevant photo, do send it in but it's your words we will be judging for the competition. We're sorry, but for legal reasons you must be a UK resident to enter this competition."
Readers are invited to submit favourite European city-break tips of about 100 words for a weekly prize. The weekly winner, chosen by Tom Hall of Lonely Planet, receives a 200 voucher to stay at a Coolstays property; Coolstays lists more than 3,000 properties worldwide. The best tips will be published in the Guardian Travel section and on the website. Entrants may include a relevant photo but the written tip is the judging criterion. The competition is open to UK residents only and closes Monday 22 September at 10am BST. Submissions are made via an encrypted form; data will be used only for the feature and personal data will be deleted when no longer required. For true anonymity, SecureDrop may be used.
