Only challenger Andrej Kalašnik remained eligible to win the vacant belt; the title would stay vacant if Surdu won. Surdu was fined 50% of his purse. Radek Roušal missed the featherweight limit by two pounds and forfeited 20% of his purse. Oktagon 79 took place on November 1, 2025 at the Winning Group Arena in Brno and streamed live on Oktagon.tv beginning at 12:30PM ET (9:30AM PT). The main and preliminary cards featured multiple regional fighters.
