Google's Android battery health indicator is only for the newest Pixels
Briefly

Google is introducing a battery health indicator for Android phones, which is similar to a feature available on iPhones since 2018. This feature will be exclusive to the Pixel 8A and newer models, unfortunately excluding older devices like the Pixel 6 and Pixel 8 Pro. A developer's note on the Android Issue Tracker confirmed that the feature's limitations make it infeasible to implement on existing devices. Though in beta testing since March 2023, no response has been provided yet regarding the rationale behind this exclusion.
Google's upcoming battery health menu for Android phones is limited to newer Pixel models, neglecting older devices that may need the feature most.
The battery health indicator is currently in Beta 3 for Pixel 8A and 9 series devices, leaving older users without support.
Developers disclosed on the Issue Tracker that they won't be fixing the battery health issue for older devices, citing infeasibility.
Despite user demand, Google's new battery health feature will not roll out to older Pixel devices, raising concerns among users.
