Honor trademarks "NoxGod" imaging tech for Magic8's 200MP telephoto camera
"The Honor Magic8 series is coming by mid-October and it will introduce a new imaging technology, which the company has trademarked under the name "NoxGod". What's this about? Li Kun, Product Manager for Flagship Phones at Honor, posted a teaser about it on Weibo. The exec suggests that this technology will improve the nighttime performance of the 200MP telephoto camera on the upcoming Magic8 models (note: Nox is the Roman god of night)."
"Like its predecessor, the Honor Magic8 Pro will also sport a 200MP periscope camera, plus a 50MP main and 50MP ultra-wide. There are a few more models incoming. The vanilla Magic8 will be smaller with a 6.59" display (down from 6.78" on the Magic7), but it gets even better for fans of smaller phones - the Magic8 series will include a mini with a 6.3" display and a Dimensity 9500"
Honor will launch the Magic8 series by mid-October and introduce a trademarked imaging technology named NoxGod to improve nighttime photography. Li Kun posted a Weibo teaser indicating that NoxGod targets nighttime performance of a 200MP telephoto camera. The Magic8 Ultra may use a customized OmniVision sensor, while the Magic8 Pro will reportedly include a 200MP periscope plus 50MP main and 50MP ultra-wide cameras. The standard Magic8 will adopt a 6.59" display and the series will add a 6.3" mini powered by Dimensity 9500. Some models may include a direct Time-of-Flight sensor for better depth mapping, and Ultra and mini models could arrive in early 2026.
