It marks the first music the sisters have released together since their legendary P.S. Eliot days. Joining the Crutchfields on the new project are MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook. Listen to it below. "Snocaps was born out of the twin sisters' desire to work on music together as they had in their teens and twenties,""
"Snocaps will play a handful of shows at the end of 2025 and then be put on ice for the foreseeable future, although, according to Katie, "Allison and I have been, in some way, shape or form, doing this together for over 20 years," so it is practically a given that they will work together on music at some point again in the future."
Katie and Allison Crutchfield have surprise-released a self-titled debut album as Snocaps via ANTI-. The record marks their first music together since P.S. Eliot and features MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook, who produced and almost entirely engineered the album. The release is described as an indie-rock record recalling Allison's Swearin' and Katie's early Waxahatchee work, with all four musicians playing multiple instruments across the record. Snocaps will play a handful of shows at the end of 2025 before going on hiatus, though the sisters expect to collaborate again. Katie also recently performed on Austin City Limits and appears on Mavis Staples' upcoming album.
