Big Freedia is releasing a previously unreleased three-song EP created with late producer SOPHIE in 2016. The project will arrive June 19, with no official title or tracklist announced yet. The lead single 'Blaze That Ass' drops May 22 and has circulated online for years through leaks and live recordings from SOPHIE's DJ sets. Freedia expressed that recording with SOPHIE holds deep personal significance, especially following SOPHIE's passing. She emphasized SOPHIE's legacy of bold living and artistic innovation, stating the EP aims to demonstrate how beloved SOPHIE remains. Freedia's recent work includes the 2025 gospel album Pressing Onward, while SOPHIE's singles collection marked its 10th anniversary last year with a deluxe edition and official release of the collaboration 'Sunscreen' with Liz.
