Billy Joel Is "Healing" from Brain Disorder: "He's Working on Getting Better"
Briefly

Billy Joel is recovering from Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a brain disorder causing fluid accumulation. Co-director Susan Lacy reported his progress in therapy. In May, Joel had to cancel tour dates due to the diagnosis attributed to recent concert performances. He is receiving specific physical therapy aimed at aiding his recovery. NPH can be potentially reversible if caught early, allowing for treatment options like shunt implantation. The upcoming documentary, And So It Goes, will explore Joel's life, including his struggles with mental health and career.
During a July 16th appearance on Good Morning America, co-director Susan Lacy said the Piano Man has been "doing physical therapy, he's healing, he's working on getting better."
At the time, Joel said the condition was 'exacerbated by recent concert performances' and added that he was 'undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.'
