Dropkick Murphys announce they will not return to Punk in the Park following revelations about festival organizer Brew Ha Ha Productions' donations to Donald Trump's campaign. They performed at the Denver festival out of loyalty to fans who purchased tickets, with lead singer Ken Casey condemning the political stance. Other bands also withdrew from the event in protest. The organizer, Cameron Collins, defended himself by stating he did not restrict political expression of performing acts during events.
If you're coming under the punk-rock banner and you voted for that f-king guy, and you support that f-king s-t that they're doing, you've twisted your mind into knots. The far right ain't the new punk - you heard it here first.
Punk Rock and Donald Trump just don't belong together. So Upon finding out that Brew Ha Ha promotions donated to the Trump campaign we will not be playing any more Punk in the Park shows.
I have never posted anything political on our platforms, nor have I ever inhibited any acts from expressing their politics onstage during the shows I've promoted.
