Eric Benet, an R&B singer-songwriter from Milwaukee, navigated a rocky path in the music industry, marked by a failed initial record deal and personal tragedy. After the loss of his partner and a period of working at UPS and in a studio, he began crafting his solo career. His debut album, 'True to Myself,' led to his breakout hit, 'Spend My Life With You.' Though he took a hiatus for nearly a decade, he returned with new music, including his latest EP, 'Duets,' and a fresh album, 'The Co-Star.'
I learned how to control an unruly audience and get them on my side and perfected shit, all of it, he says of his early days.
