Listen to Foo Fighters' Cover of Minor Threat's "I Don't Wanna Hear It"
Briefly

Foo Fighters have released a new cover of "I Don't Wanna Hear It," originally by the hardcore band Minor Threat. The recording of the instrumentals dates back to 1995, while Dave Grohl completed the vocals in 2025. Grohl has long admired Ian MacKaye and Minor Threat's influence on hardcore music, marking them as pivotal in the genre's evolution. The band has been relatively quiet since their last album, But Here We Are, which was released after the passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2023, and they plan to resume touring in October without Josh Freese, who temporarily took over drumming duties.
They sort of made hardcore what it is, with Ian's vocals and the whole straight-edge 'no drink-no drugs' thing. They started a new era.
Foo Fighters recorded the instrumentals in 1995, and Dave Grohl finished his vocals in 2025, showcasing a unique span of time in music creation.
