Skid Row are opening their search for a new singer to the worldwide public by partnering with musical-instrument retailer Sweetwater to hold an open audition. Erik Grönwall left the band in early 2024, and Halestorm's Lzzy Hale filled in for a run of shows that ended in June 2024. The band has stated that the search is genuine rather than a gimmick, seeking voice, presence, and authenticity to carry Skid Row forward. Sweetwater content creator Nick Bowcott described his long-standing admiration for the band's songs and live energy and called the audition a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Audition videos can be submitted online with no deadline.
