Swing Kids announce first-ever NYC show
"Swing Kids, the influential San Diego screamo band fronted by Justin Pearson (who went on to form The Locust, Retox, Deaf Club, Dead Cross, and various other bands), were initially around from 1994 until guitarist Eric Allen's 1997 death, but surviving members reunited last year and now they just announced their first-ever NYC show. It goes down on April 19 at Elsewhere,"
"and it doubles as a 10th anniversary celebration for PR collective The Chain, which Justin Pearson co-founded with fellow musicians Curran Reynolds and Brandon Gallagher. The lineup also features Brandon's Trace Amount project with live drummer Ignabu, Curran's Body Stuff project, experimental rapper Fatboi Sharif, and sassy Brooklyn punk duo Venus Twins. The show's being co-presented by Saint Vitus, and there's an official afterparty at Selva (a few blocks from Elsewhere) with DJ Nikki Sneakers."
