Mammoth, led by Wolfgang Van Halen, paid tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne during a performance in Hartford, Connecticut on July 22nd. They learned of Osbourne's passing before their soundcheck for a concert supporting Creed. Wolfgang expressed the necessity of covering an Ozzy song, stating that simply mentioning his death was insufficient. Despite minimal rehearsal, Mammoth delivered a heartfelt rendition of "Mama, I'm Coming Home," which was captured by fans. The band will continue touring with Creed before launching their own headlining tour in the fall.
Wolfgang revealed, "That fucking sucks that we are in a world that doesn't have Ozzy Osbourne anymore. And it was right before we went on soundcheck that we found out."
Wolfgang stated, "We have to do something. Just mentioning it isn't enough. We've played through this maybe three times, so please bear with us and sing the fuck along with us."
