Xi'an Foods began as a family venture, inspired by the flavors of Xi'an in China, and grew to become a beloved destination for hand-pulled noodles in NYC.
The restaurant is casual with simple dishes, yet the preparation, especially for cold-skin and hand-pulled noodles, can be quite complex and skillful.
Being from Xi'an, we missed our home food. My father wanted to create something personal after realizing I could manage my own path in college.
In 2005, when Xi'an Foods started, the dynamic of Chinese cuisine was changing in NYC, with new immigrants introducing diverse regional flavors.
