Chauncey Billups was arrested Thursday as part of federal investigations into illegal sports betting and rigged poker games. Tyronn Lue said he has spoken to Billups and described him as like a brother since age 17 and the godfather to Billups' three daughters. Lue said he believes in Billups' character and that Billups sounded confident when they spoke. Lue expressed sympathy for Billups' family, calling the situation hard to process and pledging his love and support. The Portland Trail Blazers placed Billups on leave and named Tiago Splitter interim coach. Portland won its first game under Splitter against the Golden State Warriors.
