""I think it goes with putting the work in, so all the credit to him," head coach Jordi Fernández said. "Obviously, the coaches, he works with them. And once you put the work in, you see it go in. When you shoot it in a game you believe in all of what you've done before.""
""I think it starts with the point guard spot," Michael Porter Jr. said. "We have a lot of rookie point guards who are going to be great in this league for a long time, but they're still rookies... I think the point guard position may be the hardest position in the gam"
Egor Demin knocked down seven of his first 11 three-pointers and shot 40.9% from deep across his first four games. All 22 of his shot attempts through four games have been from behind the arc, leaving him two attempts shy of the league record for most threes without a two-point shot to open a career. Brooklyn drafted Demin eighth overall expecting him to develop as a lead creator rather than a pure movement shooter. He has averaged 2.5 assists with a season-high of four and has shown hesitancy attacking the rim. With other rookie guards contributing little offensively, veteran Terance Mann absorbed more playmaking, and Demin sat the entire fourth quarter in a loss to Atlanta. Brooklyn's offense has been serviceable, but maximizing its potential depends on Demin and the rookie guards generating better movement and spacing.
