Cowboys' Beebe out 6-8 weeks with ankle sprain
""We're hoping it's on the shorter end of that,""
""Always bet on these guys like Cooper Beebe, who are resilient, who are tough. They play through things ... But probably there is a pretty good chance he will end up (on injured reserve).""
Stephen Jones confirmed Cooper Beebe suffered a right ankle sprain and will miss 6-8 weeks after the second-half injury in the Cowboys' 40-37 overtime win over the Giants. Beebe's ankle was visibly swollen and he underwent further testing. Brock Hoffman took the final 16 snaps and has previous starts at right guard and center. If Beebe goes on injured reserve he would miss at least four games and could return Nov. 3 against the Cardinals under the announced timeline. The team could use the roster spot for Jadeveon Clowney, while DaRon Bland remains a long shot to return this week but could be targeted for Sept. 28 against the Packers.
